Our Values at Handling Change

Innovation

"Handling Change don't treat it as a health and safety course, they treat it as something for the person to take away as a life skill"

We pride ourselves on being different to our competitors, because we talk common sense. We have a unique style of training and engaging with your workforce, combined with our steps to good handling techniques, which ultimately results in the elimination of workplace handling injuries. Our expertise is designed to stay with your teams - not just after we've left the site, but years down the line. That's why we use the latest technology to provide you with high quality, affordable supporting materials that can maximise the value and ongoing output of our programmes.

Engagement

"Not only are my people buzzing about this course, they also - more importantly - understand the messages"

Handling Change integrates with the needs of your business - by fully immersing ourselves and working closely together, we are able to fully understand your requirements. We get to know you and your culture and tailor our delivery so it 'hits the spot'.

Our trainers have many talents. Whether speaking with operatives or management, they have a very unique ability to gain 'buy in' - something that we are extremely proud of. Using their vast experience in leadership and problem solving, they have time and time again proved to be very skilled at removing barriers to success. Simply put, we believe that if you talk sense, people listen.

Wellbeing

"It's a very positive investment in our great people"

At many organisations, “health and wellbeing” is something that’s talked about often, but not always clearly defined. For us, it means taking a true 360° approach, consistently connecting what people do at work with how they live their everyday lives.

At Handling Change, we’ve developed an innovative and practical way to reduce strain and prevent injuries linked to manual handling. Our Lifting Skills for Life programme is built around four simple, memorable steps that can be applied to any task. Because safe lifting isn’t just for the workplace, it’s a habit that should carry through everything we do.

Our approach to all of our training follows the same philosophy. Rather than delivering a one-size-fits-all course that can feel overwhelming and difficult to retain, we focus on realistic, relevant scenarios. This ensures learning is practical, engaging, and easier to remember.

At Handling Change, we're proud to deliver true “on the job” training. And yes, we really do mean on the job.

But why “On the Job”? Every workplace comes with its own unique manual handling challenges. That's why a generic, theory focussed, classroom-based approach can often fall short.

Our practical based, targeted training is delivered...

  • Relevant to the tasks your team actually perform

  • Fully interactive, combining demonstrations with hands-on participation - using the same equipment your teams use every day

  • Relatable to their day-to-day experiences

  • Engaging and delivered at the right moment

The result? Minimal disruption to operations and cost, with maximum engagement, buy-in, and long-term results.

How far do we go with our on the job training? Further than most! Our team have delivered training everywhere from inside aircraft holds, coaches, luxury yachts and even inside a safe-room, on the back of waste collection vehicles, inside warehouses, workshops, offices, crematoriums, submarines and power stations, on busy highways, railways, retail stores, historic buildings, on scaffolding towers, in beautiful parks and gardens and even on customer doorsteps (points of delivery)!

Wherever you are, we’ll be there. Whatever “on the job” looks like for you, we’ll meet you there.

Because real change doesn’t happen in a classroom. It happens on the job
